On Wednesday 8 December, by way of a public webinar, the Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium celebrated a major milestone: the completion of the pivotal Phase III trial of arpraziquantel – a potential new treatment option for the estimated 50 million preschool-age children suffering from schistosomiasis.

The online event was moderated by Bert Leufkens, Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium Board member and Scientific Lead at Lygature, the Consortium's coordinating partner. Presentations focused on the development of arpraziquantel, its potential added value, and the regulatory pathway that lies ahead. Insights from the Consortium’s clinical trial PI in Côte d’Ivoire, Professor Eliézer Kouakou N’Goran, also formed a key part of the webinar.

Thank you to all who joined us on the day. We were delighted to see close to 150 attendees online.

If you missed the webinar or would like to watch it again, you can view a recording here, also available in French.

There are also English and Japanese recordings available of the GHIT-hosted webinar held on Thursday 9 December to celebrate this latest project milestone. And here are links to the Brazilian version of the webinar, hosted by Fiocruz on Monday 13 December: English, Portuguese.
