The Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium: A European Commission success story
The Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium has once again been featured as a success story – this time by the European Commission.
The article features an interview with Remco de Vrueh, global health portfolio co-lead at Lygature, one of the founding Consortium partners and the independent coordinator of the project.
In the interview, Remco explains the nature of schistosomiasis and the devastating impact it has on those infected, especially young children. He also explains the progress made to date with regard to the Consortium's mission to provide equitable access to an effective and safe pediatric treatment for the disease.
"Working with a range of stakeholders, and especially with those in Africa who have first-hand knowledge of the situation and challenges in a specific country, facilitates ensuring that our work will have a strong impact where it is needed most,” said Remco.
