A look back at the launch of the Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium ADOPT Program

In April, the Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium celebrated the official launch of its ADOPT program – an implementation research program that paves the way for the large-scale delivery of a child-friendly formulation to treat schistosomiasis in preschool-age children in endemic countries.

The virtual event was moderated by Dr Anouk Gouvras of the Global Schistosomiasis Alliance and featured an excellent line-up of speakers, including Dr Mwelecele Ntuli Malecela (Director of the WHO Department of Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases), Dr Jutta Reinhard-Rupp (Chair of the Consortium Board and Head of the Global Health Institute at Merck), as well as both Consortium funding partners, GHIT and EDCTP.

We were fortunate to also be joined by representatives of our endemic country partners, who discussed the path to access and implementation of the new pediatric formulation in Kenya, Côte d'Ivoire, and Uganda.

Thank you to all who joined us on the day. We were delighted to see close to 200 attendees online! If you missed the webinar or would like to watch it again, you can view a recording here.
